"There is something sad about him, for, unlike Basil and Dorian, he fails to commit himself. His life is vicarious."
~Alex Ross, Deceptive Picture, a piece about Oscar Wilde from the Aug. 8, 2011 issue of The New Yorker.

May 16, 2011

I think I'm losing my head. I'm starting to get confused between reality and my own imagination.

There's huge fly inside my bedroom, fly around the light bulb, impossibly noisy, will you quit it?! It's been raining here in Taipei, and i, turned into a pig, eating like mad.

It's my last week at the office, don't have that many cases on my hands, don't need to work till nine or ten any more. After the shower, i lie on my bed, literally, roll around a bit (yes, 360 degrees). Can I do it? Leaving a home I built for the one I don't have and don't actually know? for a place far away, an adventure?

I'm definitely out of my mind. Actually thinking about being an outlaw, wander far to the other side of the earth, especially the likes of me, chicken shit.
